Berkeley's Best Kept Educational Secret
With a dedicated staff and a close-knit, multicultural community, St. Joseph provides the best in parochial education, such as: strong religious faith, commitment to academic excellence, small classes, positive classroom environment, creative extended care program, CYO sports, chess, and flute lessons.
St. Joseph the Worker School is committed to provide its students with the best possible educational experience. St. Joseph achieves this through an academically rigorous curriculum set in a warm and caring community environment.
The whole school gathers every morning for prayer to begin the day. In class, students learn about the components and history of the Catholic faith. Students pray with their classes and participate in school wide masses throughout the year.
Academics
In an attentive setting of no more than 25 students per class, students receive a full compliment of classes that follow the guidelines set forth by the State of California and the Oakland Diocese. Within this offering, students receive specialized instruction in P.E. and Music and have computers with high speed Internet access in every classroom.
Community
The St. Joseph community of faith is defined by four main elements: the students, the staff, the parents, and the parish. Our student body is lively and diverse, our staff caring and prepared, our parents strong and loving, and our parish is highly supportive. Through the collective activities of our community, our goal of excellence is brought to life
